A Horseman's life with Billy Johnson
Billy Johnson is a legend in the carriage driving world – one of the real ‘old fashioned horsemen’.
In this film he tells his life story which has taken him from working horses through the back lanes of Newcastle to breaking in horses for some of the best carriage drivers in the country.
Billy began his horse driving career at 12 years old when he bought a pit pony from his savings. Learning the hard way, collecting sea coal on the unforgiving North East Coast, he has spent a lifetime breaking in driving horses.
Now he is known throughout the country for his eye for horses, many of which have won National Driving Trials.
We travel with him in his horse drawn caravan to Appleby Horse Fair. We see him at home breaking in horses, training on the beaches and giving us some of his secrets of successful harness breaking.

Limerick to Dublin by Stagecoach
The Bowman family from Cumbria in the North of England are more usually known for their participation in the sport of driving trials. George Snr., his brother Robert and his two sons George Jnr. and Barnaby, are most often to be seen displaying their skills both nationally and internationally in this demanding activity and George Snr. has been part of many British medal winning teams since 1972.
However, in September 2009 the Bowman family traveled across the Irish Sea in a convoy of lorries, to re-create the historical Limerick to Dublin coach run and raise money for an extremely worthwhile charity.
The two Georges, Robert, Barnaby and a veritable army of grooms and helpers made the four day trip in the “Molly Malone” road coach.

BeekBergen Championships 2009
Filmed in July at the Dutch National Championships, this DVD takes a look at the fabulous show on its 25th Anniversary. The event runs at the Riant Equestrian Centre, ably managed by Mieke Van Tergouw, herself a World Gold Medalist in Horse Pairs.

National Carriage Driving Championships 2008
Filmed in Windsor Great Park in September it follows classes from the Novice Pony to Horse Teams. Starting with the dressage it then takes a look at the marathon course and through a 3D obstacle from the perspective of the horse.
