Cavewood Productions

Cavewood Productions are part of a group of companies based at Cavewood Grange Farm that have a rich history, with roots stretching back to the 1960s.

In the mid-sixties only a handful of independent recording studios and producers existed outside the control of the major London record labels. In East Yorkshire, local musician and electronics whiz Keith Herd started the renowned Fairview Studios, attracting acts from around the UK. The recording studio is still one of the leading facilities in the region and enjoys an unparalleled reputation.

After caring for our music business clients, it seemed a logical step to look after their reproduction and duplication requirements and so Fairview Duplication was born. A few years later, more logic followed in the formation of Cavewood Productions, which allowed us to tailor our skills towards producing broadcast quality video content for TV, Web and DVD output.

Completing the full picture, Design Community provide graphic design, marketing and advertising services along with website design and production. Recent expansion has also added in-house photography and 3D development.

Our aim is to provide all our clients with a complete start to finish service in one place, covering production through to end saleable product without them having to juggle multiple companies to take care of each different aspects of their project.

Cavewood Equestrian Background

Our equestrian knowledge comes directly from a deep involvement in the sport from our senior editor, Jackie Herd.

Jackie started to ride at the age of 4, a passion for horses inherited from her mother which is still very strong today. Having gone through the Pony Club route she represented the Holderness Hunt Pony Club in the show jumping finals at Stoneleigh in 1979.

At 17 she went to work for Olympic rider Graham Fletcher and was lucky enough to have 5 or 6 good horses to ride every day, along with many lessons from Graham. She continued with affiliated show jumping into her mid twenties when she went to work for Duncan Inglis in Sussex, as Head Girl in his international yard, travelling many horses at home and abroad.

On returning to Yorkshire her mother had discovered the carriage driving bug and after Jackie stated “I’ll come with you this one time but don’t expect me to do it again” she was also hooked! In 1993 and 1995 she qualified for the National Carriage Driving Championship at Windsor.

For the next 10 years, having become great friends with four in hand driver Karen Bassett, she travelled to most of the top national and international shows including three World Championships and two World Equestrian Games. In 2004 she took up her driving reins again and in 2007 became the Open Single Pony National Champion.

In 2008, having discovered Horse & Country TV, she decided to make a TV programme about carriage driving. After a crash course in editing she has now produced 12 programmes for the channel including reining, dressage & three day eventing along with carriage driving.

Full time editing and business commitments keep her away from competing, at present, but she gets her “fix” from filming and editing world class horses. Jackie is backed by a full in-house team with experience in shooting and capturing sports events from around the world.
